About Our Values

Our Core Values

There are five things we value above all else at New Journey:
Missions:
We believe Jesus saves us to send us to others across the street and around the world. We seek to live as missionaries amongst our neighbors and in locations outside our local community.
Discipleship:
We believe Jesus wants us to make disciples of other and not just get them to make decisions for Jesus. Discipleship at New Journey is all about teaching and showing one another what it means to love, serve, and follow Jesus in the context of everyday life.
Multiplication:
We believe the model of the New Testament and Jesus was not just to make disciples but to make disciples who eventually start to make their own disciples. Multiplication happens when followers of Jesus make new followers of Jesus who are taught to go out and make their own followers of Jesus.
Community:
Inside the church, the members should find a few people with whom they can learn and live life on mission together. We seek to connect people into community rather than have them join our church.
Multi-Ethnicity:
We believe the Gospel conquers everything that divides us from God and one another, including color and ethnicity. The truth about the power of the Gospel is at stake when we divide our churches along racial or ethnic lines. New Journey wants to be the first multi-ethnic Southern Baptist Church in Mississippi.
